Edgar is the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of My Choice Counseling & Wellness. He has over 9 years of experience working in the field of social work in a variety of interdisciplinary settings including schools, jails, hospitals, managed care organizations, and private practice.

He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in the State of Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a focus on Cultural Competence. Edgar has a multicultural perspective and recognizes the importance that culture plays in your well being and overall development.

Edgar has a focus on providing services to individuals, teens, and groups dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and mental illnesses. He has an array of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy.

Edgar enjoys helping the development of the future clinicians personal and professional growth. He offers both individual and group SUPERVISION to master level social workers in the field. He currently manages his practice and sees clients on evenings and weekends. He maintains employment as a Clinical Manager in a managed care organization overseeing multiple clinicians who work with vulnerable populations in behavioral health.
